Experience & background

East Texas roots.
Broad legal experience.

Chris Hughes was born and raised in Nacogdoches and returned home after law school. Chris and his wife have three daughters, and their family remains active in the local community.

His practice includes complex personal injury and products liability matters, commercial trucking and oilfield accidents, and civil litigation. Before opening his private practice in 2015, Chris worked at a local law firm, where he developed broad experience representing clients in civil litigation.

In the course of representing clients, Chris’s work has taken him well beyond East Texas. His experience has included cases requiring investigation, discovery, and other work across the United States and in other countries. He has represented individuals and families affected by devastating events involving the loss of loved ones and life-altering injuries, including severe burns, amputations, and paralysis. These experiences have given him a deep understanding of the personal and financial consequences of catastrophic injuries and reinforced his commitment to providing thoughtful, well-prepared representation during some of his clients’ most difficult times.

The approach

Your legal matter deserves attention, clarity, and a plan.

Legal problems can feel disruptive and uncertain. The firm begins by listening carefully, identifying what matters most, and explaining the available path forward in plain language.

Every matter is different. The goal is practical, responsive representation shaped around your circumstances—not a one-size-fits-all process.
